Big police action in Bihar, main accused of Maharashtra TET incident Bijendra Gupta arrested

Patna: Amidst the brouhaha over the purity of examinations and paper leaks across the country, the police has achieved a major success in the famous Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) scam of Maharashtra. Bijendra Gupta, the main accused in this much talked about case, has finally been arrested from Bihar. A special team of Bhiwandi Police raided Bihar and arrested him. After the arrest, the accused was brought to Pune by plane on transit remand. From where he is being taken to Bhiwandi Police Station by road.

The accused was throwing dust in the eyes of the law

According to police records, Virendra Kumar Gupta had been evading the law for several months. His name has also cropped up in many other famous exam leak cases of the country. Some time ago, during the sting operation of a media channel, he had made sensational revelations regarding the leak of NEET paper of the year 2024. He had openly told on camera how organized gangs leak question papers of examinations and where there are flaws and weaknesses in the functioning of the National Testing Agency.

Police reached mastermind after wife’s arrest

The police have already made several arrests in this high-profile case, including the name of the wife of the main accused. Bhiwandi Police believes that the arrest of Bijendra Gupta will help in uprooting the roots of this entire interstate paper leak network.

Three more accused were arrested

The SIT of Bhiwandi Police has recently arrested three more accused, including wanted criminal Kapil Dahiya. He was mainly responsible for searching the buyers of leaked question papers in Kongaon area. With these latest arrests, the total number of accused arrested in this case has increased to seven.

This arrest has taken place at such a sensitive time when a massive protest is going on by youth and student organizations under the banner of ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) at Jantar Mantar in the country’s capital Delhi. The agitators have made it clear that their movement will not end at any cost until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns from his post. This action of Maharashtra Police is being considered a big legal step in this direction. After being brought to Bhiwandi, the accused will be interrogated thoroughly, from which many big revelations are expected.
