Amidst the continuous poor performance in Pakistan cricket, the discussion of major changes in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has intensified. According to reports, former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar may be given important responsibility on the board. Akhtar has earlier on several occasions criticized the functioning of PCB and the performance of the team.
Akhtar has raised questions regarding PCB many times
Shoaib Akhtar has many times blamed the board for the bad phase of Pakistan cricket. Pakistan team has not been able to reach the semi-finals in any ICC tournament after 2022. Recently, Pakistan also had to face 0-3 defeat in the Test series against England.
During this period, major changes were made in the team. Seven players were dropped from the team and the coach was also removed from his post. Akhtar had also given his reaction regarding these decisions.
Equations changed after meeting Mohsin Naqvi
According to the report, some time ago, after the death of Shoaib Akhtar's elder brother, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had attended his funeral. During this time there was a conversation between the two. It is being told that after this meeting, their relationship has improved.
The report claims that Naqvi shared his plan with Akhtar and also invited him to visit the National Cricket Academy (NCA). In the recent past, a relatively soft stance has also been seen from Akhtar's side regarding PCB.
Can get a big post in PCB
It is being claimed in the reports that Shoaib Akhtar can be given a big post in PCB. However, no official announcement has been made yet regarding his possible responsibility and position.
It is being told that the board is working on the future plan of Pakistan cricket and under this, changes can be made in the think tank.
PCB hopes to improve the performance of teams
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is expecting better performance from Pakistan men's team, women's team and Shaheen team. The board is considering changes in team management and cricket administration to strengthen the future strategy. Shoaib Akhtar's possible role is also said to be a part of this broader change.
