Big update regarding property distribution in Bihar, important news for land owners

Patna. The government has decided to implement a new system regarding the ongoing land survey campaign in Bihar. Now the survey process will not be stopped even if there is no division of land within the family. The government has clarified that in families where mutual division of property has not yet taken place, the land records will remain registered in the name of the old owner or ancestors, but the survey work will be completed on time.

The state government is preparing to take this campaign forward rapidly. The Revenue Department believes that due to land related disputes, there is a constant situation of tension in villages and cities. For this reason, now special emphasis is being laid on making the records transparent and systematic.

verification of land records

Digital technology and AI will now be used to make land survey more modern. The objective of the government is to accurately identify government lands and keep the records safe in the online system. According to officials, the new technology will make it easier to identify fake documents and illegal possessions. The government wants that in future people should face less problems in land related matters and records should be easily available.

Target to complete the survey by 2027

The Revenue Department has instructed all the districts to speed up the survey work. Additional staff will also be deployed if needed. The government has also made it clear that action will be taken against officers who are negligent in their work. The state government aims to complete the land survey work in all the districts of Bihar by the year 2027 so that old disputes can be resolved.

Challenge increased due to non availability of old records

During the land survey, old khatians and documents of many villages were not found. The survey process is being affected by this. The government has appealed to the people that those who have old land related documents should provide them to the department. Apart from this, information is also being taken from the land owners on the basis of self-declaration, so that it can be easier to update the records.

Now land related documents will be available online only

The government has decided to make the land records system completely digital. Now land related records will be released only through online medium. This will keep the documents safe and reduce the possibility of fraud. With the implementation of online system, people will have to visit government offices less and the work will be done faster.

Extended working hours to clear pending cases

Due to pending many applications related to land survey and filing-rejection, the department has instructed the employees to work overtime. Efforts are being made to complete the pending cases quickly by imposing separate duties in the morning and evening. The government says that this campaign will prove to be a big step towards reducing land disputes in Bihar and providing clear records to the people.
