A special match of the Indian cricket team can be seen in the historic Eden Gardens of Kolkata in the year 2028. Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) is planning to organize a special tri-series or a big match on the occasion of completion of its 100 years. There is a possibility of Indian team playing in this match. This proposal was discussed in the 95th Annual General Meeting of CAB held at Eden Gardens on Thursday.
CAB is one of the oldest cricket associations in India. Bengal team has won many titles in domestic cricket. Apart from this, this association has also given many big men’s and women’s cricketers to the country. Now the association is preparing for a big cricket event to make its centenary special. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will also be contacted for this.
Sourav Ganguly told the plan of centenary celebrations
CAB President Sourav Ganguly said that the association will start preparations for the centenary year gradually. He told that on this special occasion, a letter will be written to BCCI to organize a big match in Eden Gardens. Ganguly said, “We will start the preparations for the centenary year slowly. We will also write a letter to the BCCI, so that this celebration can be made special. This may also include a big match at Eden Gardens.”
BCCI is also planning to complete 100 years
BCCI is also preparing to celebrate its 100 years in 2028. According to reports, the board is considering organizing a match between India and Rest of the World XI. After the annual general meeting held in Mumbai on Friday, the board informed that preparations for the centenary celebrations have been started. This program can start from December 2027 and continue till 2028. However, no final decision has been taken yet regarding the match or the entire program. Rest of the World XI has already played nine international matches against teams like Asia XI, Australia, Pakistan and West Indies.
