Big action by CBI in MP’s Sagar, Deputy Chief Engineer of Railways arrested taking bribe of Rs 1 lakh
CBI Action on Railway Deputy Chief Engineer: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Deputy Chief Engineer-II (Construction) of West Central Railway, Narayan Singh Bundela on charges of taking bribe. According to the CBI, in the complaint filed on June 4, 2026, it was alleged that the accused officer had demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from the complainant in exchange for work related to release of security deposit, payment of pending bills and PVC (Price Variation Clause) dues of about Rs 1 crore.

After receiving the complaint, CBI laid a trap and caught the accused officer red handed while taking an alleged bribe of Rs 1 lakh from the complainant in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. During the search, CBI also recovered unaccounted cash worth Rs 62 thousand from the guest house room of the accused. Apart from this, during the search of his residence, documents related to investment in real estate and other objectionable materials were found.
The arrested accused has been identified as Narayan Singh Bundela, Deputy Chief Engineer-II (Construction), West Central Railway. CBI has said that the accused will be arrested and presented in the competent court of Jabalpur on June 5, 2026. Investigation of the matter is ongoing.
