From the holy birthplace of Mathura to Dwarkadhish Temple of Gujarat, ISKCON and Birla Temple of Delhi and Govind Dev Ji Temple of Jaipur, Janmashtami celebrations started with Mangala Aarti in the morning. A huge crowd of devotees is gathering in the temples on the occasion of Krishna's birth anniversary. On the occasion of Janmashtami, major Krishna temples of the country are decorated with flowers and attractive lights. The birth anniversary of Lord Shri Krishna will be celebrated during Nishith period at night. During this period, Panchamrit Abhishek, special puja and Maha Aarti will be organised.
Estimate of 75 lakh devotees to reach Braj
Devotees from India and abroad started arriving in Mathura-Vrindavan, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, on the occasion of Janmashtami from Thursday night itself. According to the administration, about 75 lakh devotees are expected to come in the entire Braj Mandal. In view of the crowd, elaborate security and traffic arrangements have been made.
Najrana reached Shri Krishna's birthplace from Kashi Vishwanath
As part of the tradition that started in the year 2024, a special group from Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple reached Shri Krishna's birthplace in Mathura. The group presented traditional gifts and worship materials for Laddu Gopal. This religious tradition is seen as a unique link in the spiritual relationship between Kashi and Mathura.
Unique religious tradition will be performed in Jagannath Puri
A special religious tradition is performed on the occasion of Janmashtami in Jagannath Puri, Odisha. For the secret ritual, the doors of the main temple will remain closed for common devotees for about five hours. During this, a symbolic religious ritual of the birth of Shri Krishna in the affectionate form of Mother Yashoda will be performed through Lord Jagannath. There is special enthusiasm among the devotees to see this unique tradition and experience its religious significance.
352 year old tradition in Nathdwara, 21 gun salute
The celebration of Janmashtami in the famous Shrinathji temple located at Nathdwara in Rajsamand district of Rajasthan has its own identity. Here Lord Shrinathji was given a royal salute of 21 guns. This tradition of giving gun salute on the occasion of birth anniversary of Thakurji in Nathdwara has been going on for about 352 years. On the occasion of Janmashtami, special worship and religious programs are being organized in the temple.
Grand procession held in Udhampur
A grand procession was taken out on Janmashtami under the auspices of Sanatan Sabha in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. During the procession, hundreds of children dressed as children of Radha-Krishna enthralled the devotees. Handmade tableaux prepared by local organizations were also the main center of attraction.
Krishna temple illuminated with colorful lights
On the occasion of Janmashtami, the historic Birla Temple and ISKCON Temple of Delhi, the Dwarkadhish Temple at Devbhoomi Dwarka in Gujarat and the ISKCON Temple in Bihar's capital Patna have been grandly decorated with flowers and colorful lights. The birth celebration of Lord Shri Krishna will reach its peak in temples during Nishith period at night. During this time, devotees will celebrate the birth of Kanha with Panchamrit Abhishek and Maha Aarti.
Joy of Krishna devotion across the country
Special preparations have been made in temples as well as homes for Janmashtami. Devotees are fasting and worshiping Lord Krishna. Bhajan-kirtan, tableaux and religious programs are being organized at various places. With the birth of Kanha at midnight, the temple and surrounding areas will echo with the chants of 'Nand Ke Ghar Anand Bhayo'.
