Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday along with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia visited the 'Art of Living' Ashram in Bengaluru and took the blessings of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji. Absorbed in the serene and spiritual atmosphere of the Ashram, the leaders prayed for the progress, prosperity and peace of Punjab and the entire country. During this time, Bhagwant Singh Mann also meditated and experienced spiritual peace and inner peace.

Sharing details on the occasion, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “I had the privilege of receiving the blessings of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji along with Arvind Kejriwal Ji and Manish Sisodia Ji at the 'Art of Living' Ashram in Bengaluru. I also got the opportunity to address a large group of devotees and experienced spiritual peace by meditating in the peaceful environment of the Ashram.”
In this regard, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Meeting Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji was a supernatural experience for me. It was a matter of great pride for me to address this large group of devotees and spend time in the peaceful atmosphere of the Ashram. This experience has filled me with spiritual peace and inner peace.”
Talking about the cultural uniqueness of Punjab and its contribution to the country, the Chief Minister said that the state has always had a special place in the history of the country. “Since ancient times, Punjab, the land of five rivers, has the distinction of being the diamond in the crown of our great country and the proud flag bearer of its age-old traditions. Its glorious history, rich culture and glorious traditions have made an incomparable contribution to the making of India.”
Describing Punjab as the “Kharag arm of the country”, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the people of the state have repeatedly come forward and contributed to the security of the country, facing every challenge. Its brave people have always protected the country as a shield against external and internal threats and this has given the fighting spirit to the people of Punjab. Despite facing many challenges over thousands of years, the land of Punjab has retained its steadfast and fearless character.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that along with the courage and fearlessness of Punjab, its secular and inclusive nature is another important feature of its identity. “Another characteristic of Punjab is its thoroughly secular character, which is embedded in its soul and an integral part of its cultural principles. The values of communal harmony, peaceful co-existence and mutual respect have always been at the heart of the social fabric of Punjab.”
The Chief Minister said that the Punjab Government is committed not only to accelerate development but also to strengthen the moral and social foundations of the society, especially the youth. Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Apart from making all-round progress in key areas of development, one of the missions of our government is to further strengthen the social, moral and national values especially among our youth. The youth are the future of Punjab and the country and inculcating them with the right values is extremely important to build a strong society.”
Lauding Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji's continuous efforts to inspire and guide the young generation, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that his spiritual teachings and intellectual guidance have inspired people from every section of the society. “Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji is continuously working in this direction by inspiring the youth through his spiritual teachings and intellectual guidance. I hope that this spiritual personality will continue to guide people with his knowledge, guidance and blessings.”
Emphasizing the need to further mature the values that strengthen the society, the Chief Minister said that communal harmony, peace, social equality and global brotherhood are essential for a progressive and united nation. Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “It is extremely important that we further strengthen the spirit of communal harmony, peaceful co-existence, social equality and global brotherhood. These are the values that have woven our society into one big family and it is our collective responsibility to preserve them. With these ideals we can build a more peaceful, harmonious and all-inclusive society.”
