CM Yogi has given a big gift to women on Diwali. CM Yogi handed over subsidy check for free LPG cylinder refill under PMUY to more than 1.89 crore eligible families. CM Yogi has emphasized on the implementation of ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana’ (PMUY) in the state. Under this, a subsidy package of Rs 1500 crore has been provided to provide free LPG cylinder refills to around 18.9 lakh eligible families. The state government has allocated ₹1,500 crore to provide free LPG refills, reducing the financial burden on women and low-income families. This will benefit more than 1.89 million families of Uttar Pradesh.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath compared the current government’s welfare approach to previous governments, saying the “double engine” government prioritized public health, women’s dignity and clean cooking fuel over ethnic politics. This initiative is specifically focused on Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
Beneficiaries of this scheme are reaping the benefits across the state, so that poor families are not forced to revert to traditional stoves that emit smoke. This financial assistance is provided to balance the family budget especially during the expensive festive season and to provide immediate financial assistance to rural and low income women. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the main objective of this distribution is to ensure that the joy of festivals is not curtailed due to financial constraints and that every poor family of Uttar Pradesh gets light of comfort.
