Story of Lord Shri Krishna and Draupadi
A major story related to Rakshabandhan is that of Lord Shri Krishna and Draupadi. It is said that once Shri Krishna got hurt and started bleeding. Seeing this, Draupadi became very worried and tore a piece of her saree and tied it on Krishna's wrist, which stopped the bleeding.
After this, when an attempt was made to disrob Draupadi in the Kaurava assembly, Shri Krishna protected her modesty. According to religious belief, this was the result of the same protective feeling. This story is seen as a symbol of brother-sister love and protection.
Panna's Rakhi changed the course of the war
In history, Rakhi has been considered a symbol of respect and relationship. According to the legend of Panna ki Rakhi, there was a conflict going on between two princely states of Rajasthan. During this time, a princely state was attacked by the Mughals. The ruler of another princely state was moving forward to help the Mughals. Panna established brotherly relationship by sending Rakhi to him.
After receiving Rakhi, he changed his side and fought against the Mughals. Thus, Rakhi served to convert the enmity between the two parties into friendship.
Story of Queen Karnavati and Humayun
There is a famous story in medieval history about Queen Karnavati and Mughal Emperor Humayun. It is said that Queen Karnavati of Chittor had sent Rakhi to Humayun considering her as her brother. Humayun accepted this relationship and took steps to help protect the queen's honour.

Belief related to Indradev's victory
According to the legend, there was a long war between the gods and the asuras. The demons defeated the gods including Indra. In a situation of crisis, Indra asked Guru Brihaspati for a solution. After this, on the day of Shravan Purnima, Indrani prepared the Raksha Sutra according to the rituals and tied it on Indra's wrist.
It is believed that due to the influence of this Raksha Sutra, Indra got victory in the war. This story is linked to the tradition of tying Raksha Sutra on Rakshabandhan.
Story of Mata Lakshmi and King Bali
Another belief is associated with Lord Vishnu, Mother Lakshmi and King Bali. It is said that pleased with the devotion of King Bali, Lord Vishnu started living with him. Mother Lakshmi became worried due to this. He tied Raksha Sutra on the wrist of King Bali and accepted him as his brother.
After this, Mother Lakshmi asked for Lord Vishnu as a gift. King Bali accepted his words. It is believed that this incident also happened on the day of Shravan Purnima.
