Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced to make the film 'Hanuman Ansh' based on the life of spiritual guru Neem Karauli Baba tax-free in the state. The film was released on 7 August and has proved to be an unexpected hit at the box office.

Chief Minister Dhami enjoyed the film with his wife Geeta Dhami, cabinet ministers and MLAs at a cinema hall in Dehradun. He said that such films play an important role in presenting the spiritual and cultural heritage of Uttarakhand to the country and the world.

CM shared on social media that through this film, one got the opportunity to understand Baba Neem Karauli Maharaj's penance, sacrifice, service and his deep devotion towards Lord Hanuman. His life was dedicated to the service and welfare of humanity.

The film is written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, which tells the story of a young Lakshmi Narayan. After the death of his mother, he sets out in search of God and is eventually worshiped as Saint Neem Karauli Baba.

According to Sacnilk, the film had slow earnings initially, but made a strong comeback at the box office due to word of mouth publicity. Till now, it has collected Rs 82.88 crore nett and Rs 97.77 crore gross at the domestic box office.
