Decision to make the film 'Hanuman Ansh' tax free
'Hanuman Ansh' made tax free in Uttarakhand: The film 'Hanuman Ansh' based on the life of Baba Neem Karauli has performed brilliantly at the box office. The film has won the hearts of the audience and its total earning has crossed Rs 300 crore. Meanwhile, the Dhami government of Uttarakhand has decided to make this film tax free to encourage it. This means that now the ticket prices of 'Hanuman Ansh' will reduce in the state.
The Uttarakhand government will compensate the State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) charged on tickets in theaters and multiplexes, so that there is no additional tax burden on the audience. Uttarakhand Director General of Information and Uttarakhand Film Development Council (UFDC) Chief Executive Officer Banshidhar Tiwari has given necessary instructions to the state tax department in this regard. As per the Government order, in order to promote the film 'Hanuman Ansh', it has been decided that the SGST to be paid within the State on the service provided by multiplexes and theaters for screening of the film will be reimbursed by the Government.
It is worth noting that the budget of this film was only Rs 2 crore, and it has grossed Rs 291.40 crore globally in 40 days. Now that the Uttarakhand government has made it tax free, its ticket sales are likely to increase.
