Central government is rapidly developing 100 aspirational agricultural districts through PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana.

New Delhi, October 10 (IANS). Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) is completing its first year on 11 October 2026. According to a factsheet released by the government on Saturday, the scheme aims to develop 100 aspirational agricultural districts through targeted interventions.

By addressing the specific needs of the district, the scheme can help boost opportunities in the areas of agricultural productivity, irrigation, access to credit and post-harvest infrastructure.

PMDDKY was approved by the Union Cabinet on July 16, 2025 for a period of six years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally launched this scheme on 11 October 2025.

The scheme is being implemented in coordination with 36 central schemes of 11 ministries and departments, schemes of state governments and private sector participation. This is helping in taking steps in accordance with local agricultural priorities.

The dashboard of PMDDKY started in the last week of October 2025. Ranking of districts based on monthly output indicators (direct indicators of progress) was introduced from November 2025, providing a mechanism to monitor progress in 100 districts.

According to the factsheet, “All 100 Dhan-Dhaniya Krishi Yojana (DDKY) districts have prepared District Agriculture Plans (DAPs) and their implementation is underway. Committees have been constituted at the state, district and national levels for review and monitoring. All 100 districts have submitted output indicator data up to August 2026. All 100 districts have also submitted outcome indicator data for FY 2025-26.” Have done it.”

Central nodal officers are regularly reviewing the progress and providing guidance to the districts. The Department of Public Enterprises has included the adoption of DDKY districts under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities by Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) in FY 2026-27 and 2027-28.

According to the factsheet, the average score of 100 districts based on six objectives increased from 18.85 in April 2026 to 46.89 in August 2026. In this way an improvement of 28.04 points was recorded in the score.

Additionally, in the first year of the scheme, platforms were also created for farmers and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to share experiences and explore new opportunities.

More than 72 farmer producer organizations from 15 states and 33 districts of PM-DDKY participated in the PM-DDKY FPO Sangam held in December 2025.

In this program, experiences related to increasing agricultural productivity, improving market access and improving farmers' income were shared. Topics like natural farming, oilseeds, beekeeping, protected farming, micro irrigation, institutional finance and digital agriculture were also discussed in it.
