Tata Punch.ev of Tata Motors has achieved a big feat in the Indian electric car market. In October 2026, the monthly wholesale dispatch of this compact electric SUV crossed 5 thousand units for the first time. With this, Punch.ev has become the first standalone electric car in India to cross the mark of more than 5 thousand units in a month.
This success of Tata is also special because new electric models are continuously being launched in the market and it is facing tough competition from vehicles like Mahindra's XEV 9S. Despite this, Punch.ev has performed brilliantly in the last few months. It has been among the best selling electric cars of the country in the last three months.
In August, Mahindra XEV 9S had overtaken Punch.ev with sales of 4,508 units. That month, 4,430 units of this Tata electric SUV were sold. However, Punch.ev made a comeback in September and recorded sales of 4,702 units, while Mahindra's vehicle sold 4,636 units. Now it has created a new record by crossing the figure of more than 5 thousand units in October.
