CJP Protest: The Cockroach Janata Party, which has been agitating for a long time over the NEET-UG paper leak issue (CJP) will once again hit the streets of Delhi. The CJP has announced a peaceful march in New Delhi on September 5, 2026, alleging that the central government has not fulfilled its promises to the youth. CJP has informed that this march will start from India Gate and will go towards New Delhi Police Headquarters.
After Jantar-Mantar now India Gate
The CJP had earlier staged a long protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar over the NEET paper leak issue. On July 25, the agitation was called off after discussions with the government. At that time, various issues were said to have been resolved, including withdrawal of FIRs against the protesters and compensation to the affected families. But even after almost a month, the important promises have not been fulfilled, the CJP has now alleged. Therefore, the organization has decided to take the path of agitation again.

March in Delhi on September 5
The CJP has announced a peaceful march on September 5. The organization said that the march will start from India Gate and go towards New Delhi Police Headquarters. According to CJP Sourav Das, the families of the deceased students related to the NEET case as well as those affected by the police action will lead the march. The CJP has expressed hope that students, youth organizations and young citizens across the country will participate in this movement.
Allegation of 'breach of promise' on the government
CJP's National Working Committee met online on Monday. In this meeting, the organization said that the assurances received from the central government and the respective state governments while withdrawing the agitation on July 25 were reviewed. Even after a month, the expected action on many issues has not been done and the process is being delayed, the CJP alleged. The organization has claimed that the nationwide agitation was withdrawn showing good faith only after the assurances received from the government.
What are the major demands of CJP?
During the agitation against NEET paper leak, CJP had raised various demands before the government. The demand for the resignation of the then Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was prominent among them. Apart from this, there was a demand for compensation of Rs one crore to the families of the dead students related to the NEET case and withdrawal of the cases filed against the protestors during the agitation. After the July 25 discussion, the protest was called off. However, the CJP alleged that no satisfactory action has been taken regarding the process of compensation and withdrawal of FIR.
The issue of FIR is again discussed
The CJP had earlier warned the government on the issue of withdrawing the FIR against the protesters. The organization had demanded a written assurance and hinted to strike again if no action was taken. Now with the announcement of the September 5 march, the issue of NEET paper leak and subsequent student agitation is likely to take center stage once again.
An effort to bring youth together across the country
The CJP has also announced various initiatives to reach out to citizens nationwide from September. The association has earlier clarified its role to act as a pressure group on issues such as unemployment, education, transparency, accountability and institutional reforms. Hence, whether the September 5 march in Delhi remains limited to the NEET issue or takes the form of a wider youth movement is now under the spotlight. Meanwhile, the role taken by the Delhi Police regarding the march route, necessary permits and security will also be important.
