After Rahul Gandhi's 'Students' Echo' program in Indore, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav enumerated the achievements of the government regarding education, employment and development of the state. He said that issues related to youth and students should be discussed on the basis of facts and figures.
Tezzbuzz DeskChief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, while reacting to Rahul Gandhi's 'Students' Echo' program organized in Indore, raised questions on his claims. The Chief Minister said that it is important to keep facts in front while discussing serious topics like children, youth and education. He alleged that an attempt was made to create confusion instead of statistics in the programme.
Referring to the school education system of Madhya Pradesh, CM Yadav said that continuous work is being done to reduce the dropout rate in the state. According to him, in the year 2002-03 the dropout rate in the state was around 16 percent, whereas currently efforts are being made to bring it down to zero. He told that at that time the budget of school education was about Rs 2 thousand crores, which has now increased to Rs 38,658 crores.
The Chief Minister also mentioned the facilities provided to the students. He said that the government is providing facilities like uniform, bicycle, laptop and scooter to the students. He said that the government is continuously working on providing necessary resources to the students along with education.
Referring to the expansion in the field of health and medical education, the Chief Minister said that from 1956 to 2002-03, there were only five medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh. Now their number has increased to 33 in the state. He claimed that the number of seats in medical colleges has also increased from about 680 to more than 7 thousand.
Regarding employment, the Chief Minister said that the process of recruitment is going on in government departments in the state. According to him, recruitment is being done on about 18 thousand posts in the police department and about 10 thousand youth have been trained and joined the police service. The process of recruitment for 10 thousand posts is also going on in the School Education Department, while he said that about 7 thousand professors will be recruited.
CM Yadav also presented figures related to the state's economy and power production. He said that in the year 2002-03, the per capita income of Madhya Pradesh was around Rs 11 thousand, which has now increased to Rs 1.59 lakh. Similarly, he claimed that the power generation capacity has increased from about 5 thousand MW to about 32 thousand MW.
The Chief Minister said that there has been change in many sectors including education, health, electricity, income and employment in Madhya Pradesh. He appealed to Rahul Gandhi that if he is communicating with the people of the state, then he should present his views on development related issues on the basis of facts and figures.
