Tezzbuzz Desk – Political rhetoric has intensified following a video message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi shared a video on social media titled “Forgive the Children,” in which he referred to the demonstrations at Jantar Mantar against irregularities in the NEET exam and called for forgiveness for the protesting youth. He said that society’s responsibility is to show misguided youth the right path rather than punish them.
The Congress party has reacted sharply to the Prime Minister’s message. Pawan Khera, head of the Congress’s media and publicity department , shared PM Modi’s video on the social media platform X, writing, “The country was asking him to apologize, but he instead forgave the country.” The Congress party says the government should have responded to the alleged irregularities in the NEET exam and the problems faced by students.
What did PM Modi say?
In a video message, Prime Minister Modi said that offensive language was used against him and his late mother during the protests at Jantar Mantar over the NEET exam controversy. He added that dragging young people to court in such cases will not solve the problem.
PM Modi said, “I want to forgive them. People make mistakes. It is a matter of concern that even our daughters are using abusive language. We must forgive the youth who have gone astray. After all, they are our own children. It is our duty to show them the right path.”
He further stated that society needs to understand the pain and frustration within young people. At such times, efforts should be made to embrace them and provide positive direction, rather than simply resort to punitive action.
Congress raised questions
The Congress party criticized the government over the Prime Minister’s statement. The party said the country was expecting accountability and an apology from the government regarding the NEET exam controversy and student issues, but the Prime Minister instead offered forgiveness for the protesters. Congress leaders allege the government should address the youth’s concerns and ensure transparency in the examination system.
Following the Prime Minister’s video and the Congress’s response, the issue has also become a topic of discussion on social media, where supporters of the ruling and opposition parties are responding with their respective arguments.
