Tezzbuzz Desk- The political turmoil over the NEET paper leak and various examination scams that have surfaced across the country is continuously intensifying. On the third day of the monsoon session of Parliament, Congress and other opposition parties adopted a new way of protesting against the central government. Congress MPs reached Parliament wearing black clothes and tried to corner the government on alleged irregularities in the examination system, police action on students’ agitation and issues related to the future of the youth.
Congress says that NEET paper leak is not a matter limited to just one examination, but it is a serious matter related to the credibility of the country’s examination system and the future of millions of students. The party alleges that despite repeated incidents of paper leaks, the government has failed to take effective steps. For this reason, Congress has decided to intensify protests inside and outside the Parliament.
MPs reached Parliament in black clothes
On Wednesday morning, Congress MPs reached Parliament wearing black clothes. The party called it solidarity with the youth and a symbolic protest against the government. Congress leaders say that this demonstration is an attempt to take the voice of the students to the Parliament. The opposition alleges that police used force during the student movement, which should be investigated impartially.
Along with Congress MPs, leaders of many other opposition parties also reached Parliament with a strategy to corner the government on this issue. The opposition is continuously demanding that there should be a detailed discussion in the Parliament on NEET paper leak and other examination irregularities and strict action should be taken against those responsible.
Leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi
Earlier on Tuesday, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and many senior party leaders had protested outside the Prime Minister’s residence. The leaders were detained by Delhi Police during the demonstration, although they were later released. After this development, Congress decided to further intensify its movement.
Congress leaders say their protest is to protect the interests of students and ensure transparency in the examination system. The party is continuously demanding to fix the accountability of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Deadlock continues in Parliament
The issue of NEET paper leak is also affecting the monsoon session of Parliament. There has been a continuous uproar regarding this issue in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha for the last two days. The opposition is demanding discussion, while the ruling party says that the government is ready for discussion. Due to this confrontation, the proceedings of both the houses were disrupted several times.
Congress demonstration across the country
Along with Parliament, Congress has also announced a program of protests across the country. State units of the party have been instructed to protest in their respective states wearing black bands or black clothes and raise demands for improvement in the examination system and protection of students’ interests. The aim of Congress is to give this issue the form of a mass movement at the national level.
Protest will continue further
Congress has indicated that if the government does not adopt a positive stance on the demands of the opposition, the agitation will continue inside and outside the Parliament. On the other hand, the government says that investigation into exam-related matters is ongoing and action will be taken against the culprits as per law. In such a situation, the issue of NEET paper leak is likely to remain at the center of Parliament and national politics in the coming days.
