An incident of assault on a retired Kargil war officer has come to light in Gurugram, Haryana. It is being told that retired Group Captain Amit Kumar Gupta was attacked with an iron rod by the parking attendant. He suffered serious injuries on his head and hands in the attack. The victim former Air Force officer has accused the police of not helping on time. It has also been said that the hospital administration has prepared a fake report in which wrong information has been given.

Retired Group Captain Amit Kumar Gupta, who was a part of the Indian Air Force's 'Operation Safed Sagar' (1999), had gone to Gonzo Restaurant located in Magnum Global Park, Gurugram for dinner with his family on Thursday night i.e. 10 September. When he went to park the car after dropping his family at around 8 pm, the parking staff kept taking him to different places like valet, basement and multilevel parking and finally flatly refused to park the car.
When he started to back his car, a parking attendant hit the windshield of his car. When he protested, the attendant brought an iron rod and directly attacked his head and hand. After this attack he became drenched in blood. The accused also threatened to kill him.

Serious allegations against police and hospital
The security personnel and other parking staff present there did not provide any help during the incident. According to Amit Kumar, he immediately called the police helpline but no policeman reached the spot for half an hour. Eventually, a chef at the restaurant intervened and saved his life.
After this he was taken to Medanta Hospital by ambulance, where surgery had to be done to join his elbow bone. The victim has alleged that the hospital has prepared a wrong medical report in which there is no mention of his bleeding and serious elbow injury.
He says that despite filing the complaint, he is not getting any help from the police. He has given a written complaint to the police demanding strict legal action against the accused under the sections of attempt to murder and causing grievous hurt.
