On the morning of Tuesday 11th August, Hooghly police took him into custody and interrogated him, after which he was formally arrested. Let us tell you, Abhishek has been arrested on charges of rape on the pretext of marriage.

Abhishek Porel presented in court

According to reports, after the arrest, medical test of wicketkeeper batsman Abhishek Porel was conducted. After this he was produced in Chinsurah Court from where he was sent to police custody for 3 days. In fact, a few days ago, a woman had lodged an FIR against Abhishek Porel at Magra police station in Hooghly district.

According to the complaint, after coming in contact with the woman in the year 2023, Porel forcibly had physical relations with the woman with the promise of marriage and recorded the private moments of both of them. Taking a tough stand on the serious allegations made by the woman, the Kolkata High Court had ordered the arrest of the cricketer.

19 sections imposed on Porel

A total of 19 sections have been mentioned in the FIR of the case. According to the FIR, this incident took place on 2 April 2026 in Delhi. In the complaint, the woman alleged that Abhishek Porel kept her with him deliberately and illegally and did not even give her food. Apart from this, it was also claimed in the FIR that he was deliberately kept in isolation, due to which his physical condition became very weak.

Electronic devices were confiscated

In this case, Kolkata High Court had ordered the arrest of Abhishek Porel as well as directed to confiscate all the electronic devices possessed by him. So that objectionable data cannot be shared with anyone further.
