Lucknow. The troubles of Dr. Gyanendra Kumar, former principal of Rajarshi Dasharath Autonomous State Medical College and Associated Hospital, Ayodhya, have increased. After being found guilty in the preliminary investigation, disciplinary action has been recommended against him. After strict instructions from Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, orders have been issued for a high-level investigation into this entire matter.

Dr. Gyanendra Kumar has been accused of gross corruption and serious financial irregularities during his posting in Ayodhya. Investigation has revealed that while on leave, even when he had handed over his charge to another officer, he passed tenders on the GeM portal and signed checks worth crores of rupees.

These serious financial irregularities came to light following allegations and complaints made by the former acting Principal of the Medical College, which have been proven true in the initial investigation.

Considering the seriousness of the matter, its command has been handed over to Director General Medical Education (DGME) and flamboyant IAS officer Neha Sharma. Instructions have been given from the government level that an impartial and thorough investigation should be conducted and the report should be submitted as soon as possible, so that strict legal and administrative steps can be taken against the culprit.

Former Principal of Ayodhya Medical College, Dr. Gyanendra Kumar is accused of committing financial irregularities while on leave during illness. He is accused of signing jam contracts for purchasing goods while he was on leave in the name of illness. During the same period, checks worth more than 1.25 crores were also signed. In this regard, he had sent a complaint letter to Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Principal Secretary of Medical Education Department and Director General Medical Education.
Let us tell you that Dr. Gyanendra Kumar had taken charge from the former acting Principal Dr. Satyajit Verma on 21 September 2023. This year, Dr. Gyanendra Kumar had handed over the charge of going on leave from January 4 to January 19, 2023, instead of giving it to Dr. Satyajit, to Dr. Paras Kharbanda. In the complaint letter, a complaint has been made to the government that despite being on leave, Dr. Gyanendra Kumar issued a JAM contract worth Rs 84 lakh on January 7 and 10. It is alleged that between January 8 and 10, payments of Rs 1 crore 28 lakh 90 thousand 990 were made through 17 cheques.

It is written in the letter that more than Rs 2.12 crore government money was spent. In the letter, it has been said that Dr. Gyanendra Kumar has committed financial irregularities. Let us tell you that order was given to remove Dr. Gyanendra Kumar from the post on 16 January 2023. In such a situation, questions are being raised regarding payment and jam contracts while being on leave.
