Despite half the team being reduced to 90, Sri Lanka scored 284 runs, Manav Suthar took 4 wickets

The Galle Test match being played between India and Sri Lanka has reached an exciting turn. Team India has achieved a lead of 178 runs by the end of the third day's play (17 August). After scoring 462 runs in the first innings, the Indian team bundled out Sri Lanka's first innings for 284 runs. In this way he achieved a huge lead.

At one time, the bowlers of Team India had reduced half the Sri Lankan team to 90 runs. The trio of Manav Suthar, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav were wreaking havoc. Batsmen like Kamindu Mendis and Dhananjay de Silva had returned to the pavilion and the host team's innings seemed to be coming to an end soon but Sonal Dinusha and Niroshan Dickwella saved it from being bundled out cheaply by making a partnership of 146 runs for 6 wickets.

He has scored 23 half-centuries in Test cricket but has never reached triple digits.

Prasidh Krishna put brakes on the big partnership of Dinusha-Dickwella. Prasidh got Dickwella caught out by wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. After this, Jadeja sent debutant Keshara Nuvantha to the pavilion. From here, Dinusha along with Prabhat Jayusarya made a partnership of 31 runs for the 8th wicket and during this time completed his century. However, as soon as Jayasuriya (10) was out, he also returned to the pavilion in the next over, due to which the Sri Lankan team could not reach 300 runs.
