‘Dhurandhar 2’ turns box office milestones into brief stops
In Bollywood, not every film comes in quietly, some arrive with noise, and some just keep growing after release.
Dhurandhar 2 seems to have done both at the same time, moving faster than what people have been used to seeing lately.
The film released on 19 March, with previews a day before. But even before the official opening, it had already started pulling attention.
It opened with what the industry would call an unusual number, about Rs 43 crore just from paid previews.
That kind of start usually hints at something big, but even then, the full picture wasn’t clear.
By the end of day one, the film collected Rs 102.55 crore in India. When previews are added, it went up to Rs 145.55 crore.
A big share came from the Hindi version alone, which brought in Rs 99.10 crore, not a number usually seen for a single day in Hindi cinema.

But what really stands out is how fast it kept going. In just six days, it crossed Rs 500 crore in Hindi.
By day 11, it went past Rs 800 crore in India, and by day 18, it crossed Rs 1,000 crore, becoming the first Hindi film to do that domestically.
What’s also noticeable is that it didn’t drop quickly after the first week, which often happens.
Even in its third week, the numbers stayed strong, doing better than many earlier big films at the same stage.
Outside India, the response followed a similar trend. It crossed Rs 1,000 crore globally within a week.
Overseas collections went beyond Rs 400 crore by the end of the month.
By day 30, Rnveer Singh’s spy thriller had reached around Rs 1,700 crore worldwide, and it still didn’t look like it was slowing down much.
