Pune/ Badminton: Pune District Metropolitan in memory of Sushant Chiplakatti Badminton Association (PDMBA) Pune Mayor's Trophy Yonex Sunrise Indian Kumar International Grand Prix Badminton Tournament organized by the young players of India entered the semi-finals with a strong performance. Dev Ruparelia, Pranav Manjunath, Nischal Chand and Jagsher Singh Khangurra overcame their opponents in the boys' singles of the under-19 tournament, which is being held under the auspices of BWF, BA, BAI and MBA.
In the girls' singles, Rishika Nandy, Gatha Suryavanshi and Ishita Negi reached the semi-finals, while Thailand's Thianaparpornchok also advanced. P.E. Top seed Dev Ruparelia defeated Viren Seth 21-17, 21-18 in straight games in the quarter-finals of the tournament held at the Badminton Hall at Society's Modern PDMBA Sports Complex, Shivajinagar. Sixteenth seed Nischal Chand, however, faced stiff resistance from Shaurya Agarwal. Nischal entered the semi-finals by winning 22-20, 15-21, 21-12 in a tight match that lasted for 1 hour and 12 minutes. Second seed Jagsher Singh Khangurra defeated top seed Arjun Reddy Aluguvelli 21-11, 21-14 yesterday. Jagsher maintained his dominance in both games to make it to the final four in the 34-minute match.

In girls' singles, unseeded Rishika Nandi defeated third seeded Disha Santosh 21-16, 21-18 to register a sensational result in the tournament. In a match that lasted for 34 minutes, Rishika achieved a good combination of patience and aggressive play to defeat the ranked opponent. Thailand's Thianaparpornchok ended the challenge of India's Vijaya Lakshmi Boddu 21-17, 21-17. In a match that lasted 30 minutes, the Thai player sealed his place in the semi-finals with consistency in both games.
