Drug module transporting drugs through drones from Pakistan busted

Jammu Police has busted a Pakistan-backed drone-based drug trafficking module. Police arrested two persons from Arnia area of ​​Jammu. Police investigations revealed that the suspects had received two consignments dropped by drones and had links with Pakistan-based handlers. The suspects have admitted to receiving drug consignments dropped by drones in the past. An FIR has been registered at the Arnia police station under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act. In fact, officials said on Tuesday that two people have been arrested from a village near the international border. A pistol and one kilogram of narcotics have also been seized from these two people. Along with this, drug smuggling gangs across the border have been busted. According to officials, a case of airdropping a consignment of narcotics by Pakistan-based handlers in a forward village of Arnia sector came to light some time ago. After investigation into the case, Rahul Kumar of Trawa and Ajay Kumar of Talahar were arrested.

Both the accused were arrested from their homes late on Monday night, officials said. Based on their information, one Italian-made pistol, two magazines, four rounds of ammunition, 500 grams of heroin and 500 grams of opium were seized. He said the accused had confessed to their relationship with a Pakistan-based handler and to having received two drug consignments dropped by drones in the past. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Arms Act, and further investigation is underway, officials said.
