New Delhi: The results of Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections are out. Let us tell you, ABVP has shown its dominance in this election and has won three out of four posts. With this, Yash Dabas of ABVP has won the post of President. The contest for the post of President was very exciting. ABVP's Yash Dabas defeated NSUI's Vijay Shankar Meena by securing 24,576 votes. Vijay got 22,523 votes, which means the victory margin was more than 2 thousand votes. Whereas Left's Anaya Raturi got 5,377 votes.
Who got the most votes for the post of Vice President?
The biggest upset took place on the post of Vice President, where independent candidate Dipanshu Shaukeen won with an overwhelming majority. Dipanshu got 30,615 votes, the highest among all the posts. In front of him, ABVP's Ishu Maurya could get only 16,910 votes, while NSUI's Veer Chhatrath got 4,313 votes.
ABVP also captures Secretary and Joint Secretary
Apart from this, Riya Chhawadi of ABVP has won the post of Secretary with 21,650 votes. Rhea defeated NSUI's Namrata Chaudhary, who got 14,869 votes. Along with this, ABVP has also won the post of Joint Secretary. ABVP's Lakshya Raj Singh got 16,615 votes in a triangular contest. Vishesh Yadav of SCS got 15,778 votes and Gopal Chaudhary of NSUI got 15,206 votes.
More than 40% voting took place
Voting was held on Friday at 52 polling centers of Delhi University. This time 40.46 percent voting was recorded, which is the highest in the last three years. Last year there was 39.5 percent voting. For the convenience of students, voting was conducted in two phases. Meanwhile, Delhi High Court has banned any kind of victory procession after the election results. The court has directed Delhi Police that after the results, no procession should be taken out on the roads, inside hostels or college premises, so that the atmosphere remains calm.
