BJP alleges that the Punjab government got a fake forensic report prepared to get a clean chit to the Chief Minister and for this, up to ₹ 10 lakh was allegedly offered.
The whole controversy started with the viral video
The controversy is related to a viral video in which a man was allegedly seen spraying liquor on pictures of Sikh Gurus. Opposition parties had claimed that the person seen in the video is Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

After this, the Punjab government made public the investigation reports of two forensic laboratories and claimed that the person seen in the video is not the Chief Minister and this video has been prepared with the aim of defaming him.
Gurugram Police made a big disclosure
The case took a new turn when Gurugram Police arrested two people for allegedly preparing fake forensic reports.

According to the police, the complainant alleged that some people posing as senior officials of the Punjab government contacted him and pressurized him to prepare a forensic report with predetermined findings. The complaint also alleged that in exchange for preparing the report ₹10 lakh cash Proposals were made and pressure was repeatedly exerted to revise the report so that it appeared in line with a set political narrative.
BJP made serious allegations
After the action of Gurugram Police, BJP has opened a front against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa In a press conference, he alleged that this entire conspiracy was hatched with the connivance of senior officers of Punjab Police. He claimed that the role of some senior officers of Punjab Police in preparing the alleged fake report has also come to light.
Sirsa said that this case is not only of preparing fake documents but also an attempt to mislead the Sikh society and Akal Takht.
Demand for arrest and resignation
BJP demanded the immediate resignation and arrest of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, saying that if the allegations are proved true then it is a serious case of abuse of power.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa alleged that the Chief Minister first hurt Sikh sentiments and now tried to save himself through a fake report.
He also raised the question that the national coordinator of Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal Why are you silent on this entire matter?
Chats and documents also made public
BJP also released some alleged chat screenshots during the press conference, in which it was alleged that there were conversations between the people concerned about preparing fake reports.
Sirsa claims that the entire deal was done in a hotel in Gurugram and money exchange was also allegedly done there.
However, these chats have not been independently confirmed yet and the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
Punjab government has already denied
Earlier, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had described the entire controversy as a conspiracy by the opposition.
He had said that the viral video is completely fake and it was spread with the aim of tarnishing his image. The Chief Minister had also said that the Punjab Police would identify those who made and spread the videos and take strict action against them.
The forensic report released by the government also claimed that after detailed digital analysis, it became clear that the person seen in the video is not Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
All eyes fixed on investigation
Now after the investigation by Gurugram Police, the matter has become more serious. If the allegations of preparation of fake forensic report and involvement of government officials are proved true in the investigation, then it can become a big political crisis for the Punjab government.
At present the police is investigating the entire matter and the eyes of political parties are now fixed on the next action of the investigating agencies.
