Farhan Akhtar was recently talking to ‘The Hollywood Reporter India’ on the occasion of completion of 25 years of his film Dil Chahta Hai. During this, he shared an old anecdote related to the film. Farhan told that about a month before the shooting of Dil Chahta Hai started, there was a sudden change in the dates of Saif Ali Khan’s second film. Because of this it became difficult for Saif to work in the film.
Farhan said that he was very upset at that time, because he felt that apart from Saif, no other actor could be right for that role.
Meanwhile, Farhan jokingly said, “This has become a pattern these days.”

Farhan did not take Ranveer Singh’s name anywhere. However, his statement is being linked to Ranveer’s exit from ‘Don 3’. Ranveer was selected as the new Don of ‘Don 3’ in the year 2023. He was going to be the new actor to play this character after Shahrukh Khan. Kiara Advani was also cast along with him in the film. But later Ranveer decided to walk away from the film. After this, many types of news came out regarding ‘Don 3’.

Reports claimed that Ranveer was upset that Farhan approached Hrithik Roshan for the role of Don without his knowledge. Farhan had rejected these claims. After Ranveer’s exit from the film, there were reports of him offering to return his signing amount. At the same time, the makers were said to be demanding compensation of around Rs 45 crore for the losses incurred in the pre-production of the film.
FWICE had taken action
Farhan Akhtar had also contacted the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) in this matter. After this the organization issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer. However, FWICE later withdrew this instruction. The organization had also clarified that Ranveer was not banned.
According to reports, Ranveer had also sent a legal notice to FWICE in this matter. Ranveer himself did not talk much about this entire controversy and information kept coming out from his side through his spokesperson.
