Faridabad Teacher Sandhya Sharma Murder Case: The police investigation into the murder of 28-year-old private school teacher Sandhya Sharma in Faridabad , Haryana, has revealed several shocking facts. According to police, the accused, 21-year-old Amit, had allegedly been preparing for the crime for nearly two months. He even purchased a knife for the murder and was constantly looking for the right opportunity to attack Sandhya.
During police interrogation, the accused reportedly revealed that his initial plan was to attack Sandhya while she was on her way to and from school. However, he feared that attacking her on the way would make him vulnerable to police capture. He subsequently changed his plan and decided to carry out the crime inside the school premises.
What did the police say?
- According to the police, Amit arrived at Saraswati Senior Secondary School in Sikrona village, Faridabad, around 9:30 a.m. on August 3rd. His face was covered with a white cloth. Upon arriving, he called Sandhya Sharma out of the classroom, using her husband’s name.
- As soon as Sandhya came out, the accused grabbed her hair and began attacking her with a knife. Sandhya was stabbed more than 27 times in the neck and chest. She died on the spot due to the severe injuries. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the school. The video of the incident later went viral on social media.
- According to investigating officers, the accused admitted during interrogation that he had purchased the knife specifically for this murder. During the attack, the accused was so aggressive that he continued to attack even after the knife became bent.
- Police have recovered the knife used in the murder. The investigation team is also trying to recover the motorcycle and clothing used by the accused at the time of the crime.
- The most serious aspect of this case is that the accused is said to have had a previous dispute with Sandhya Sharma. According to the police, Amit liked Sandhya, but he never admitted to any such relationship.
- Sandhya had previously filed a complaint against the accused for molestation, stalking, and harassment. Amit had also publicly apologized at the time.
- Investigators suspect that the complaint further fueled the accused’s resentment towards Sandhya. When Sandhya subsequently moved both her school and residence, the accused became even more enraged.
- CCTV footage also reportedly shows a school employee trying to intervene to save Sandhya. According to police, the accused also threatened the employee. The school staff member tried to save Sandhya, but was seriously injured in the attack and died.
- The accused was unable to escape far after the incident and was arrested within about two hours. The accused is said to be a resident of Kot village in Faridabad.
- On Tuesday, a city court remanded the accused in police custody for three days. Police are now questioning him to investigate the motive behind the murder, the preparations for the crime, and other related aspects.
Husband raised questions on police action
Sandhya Sharma’s husband, Vicky Gurjar, alleged that if the police had acted strictly on his wife’s earlier complaint, Sandhya might still be alive. He said that if the earlier complaint had been taken seriously, this incident could have been prevented.

According to the police, Amit is the youngest of three brothers. His two brothers work in different hospitals. Amit is unemployed and works as a buffalo herder and milk seller.
