Films made only for adults broke box office records, know the top list
New Delhi. The A (Adult) certificate assigned to films often indicates that they contain violence, bold content, or serious themes that can only be viewed by audiences over 18 years of age. It is generally believed that the audience of such films is limited, but many films have proved this notion wrong and have earned huge money at the box office.
‘Dhurandhar 2’ occupies number 1
The name of Dhurandhar 2 comes at the top of this list, in which Ranveer Singh was seen in the lead role. Due to the tremendous action and violent scenes in the film, it got an A certificate, but despite this it made a record earning of Rs 1,733.20 crore in just 27 days.
‘Dhurandhar’ also had a blast
Dhurandhar, which was the first part of this franchise, also released with an A certificate. This film also proved its dominance at the box office by earning around Rs 1307.35 crore worldwide.
The bold story of ‘Animal’ attracted the crowd
Ranbir Kapoor’s strong performance was seen in Animal. The film received an A certificate due to violence and intimate scenes, but the audience liked it very much and it made a business of about Rs 917.82 crore.
‘Saalar Part 1’ was also a superhit
Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, which starred Prabhas, also received an A certificate. Despite this, the film made a great earning of around Rs 617.75 crore worldwide.
Rajinikanth’s magic was seen in ‘Coolie’ also
Coolie, which starred Rajinikanth in the lead role, also collected Rs 518 crore despite having an A certificate.
Love story of ‘Kabir Singh’ was also a hit
Shahid Kapoor’s performance in Kabir Singh was highly appreciated. Despite the bold content of the film, it earned Rs 377 crore.
Content-driven films also showed strength
Films like The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story also performed well despite having an A certificate. ‘The Kashmir Files’ collected around Rs 341 crore and ‘The Kerala Story’ collected Rs 302 crore.
The perception about A certificate films has now changed that they are restricted to a limited audience only. On the basis of strong story, star power and strong content, these films are achieving huge success at the box office.
