Publication of final voter list of SIR in Delhi on October 19, know why this decision was taken?

New Delhi. The Special Intensive Review (SIR) process has been extended in Delhi. The Election Commission said that the final voter list will be published on October 19. By the completion of 15 days of the SIR campaign of the voter list in the capital, the Election Commission has almost achieved the target of delivering the counting forms to every home, but the pace of entering them in the online system is still slow. Only one form out of every eight has been digitized.

According to the report released till 8 pm on July 14, out of 1,45,10,298 voters of Delhi, counting forms have been distributed to 1,43,02,626 i.e. 98.57 percent voters. In comparison, only 17,66,553 forms were registered in the online system, which is 12.17 percent of the total voters. That means about 1.25 crore forms are yet to be digitized.

The Election Commission had fixed the time for this special campaign from June 30 to July 29. Talking about districts, Outer North is at the forefront in digitization. Here 25.25 percent forms have been filed online. After this, 17.63 percent forms have been digitized in South-West district, 15.41 percent in Central North, 14.70 percent in North and 14.61 percent in West district. On the other hand, the pace of digitization remains the slowest in districts like Old Delhi (7.22 percent), East Delhi (7.25 percent) and South-East Delhi (7.90 percent).

However, in terms of form distribution, most of the districts have reached 98 to 100 percent. It has been claimed that forms have been delivered to all eligible voters in New Delhi District, while North-East, Central, East, South, West and most of the other districts have also reached around 99 percent. Only the North-West district lags relatively behind with 94.36 per cent.
