First shower of monsoon in Delhi-NCR, mourning spread in 8 houses due to lightning in UP
New Delhi. Monsoon has started in Delhi and surrounding areas (National Capital Region), which has brought great relief to the people from humidity and scorching heat. This changed pattern of weather has proved to be a disaster for Uttar Pradesh. Within the last 24 hours, about eight people have died due to lightning strike in different districts of UP. Keeping an eye on the seriousness of the situation, the Meteorological Department has issued Orange and Yellow alerts of heavy rain in many states of the country including Delhi-NCR.

Sky disaster wreaks havoc in UP
With the first rain of monsoon in Uttar Pradesh, there has been a fear of lightning. According to government data, eight people working in fields in rural areas have lost their lives due to lightning. The Chief Minister’s Office has expressed deep sorrow over this and has ordered to provide immediate assistance to the dependents of the deceased. Apart from this, the administration has appealed to the farmers and villagers not to go into open fields or under trees.
Weather became pleasant in Delhi-NCR, traffic slowed down
Since this morning, there are dense clouds in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram and moderate to heavy rain has been recorded in many areas. At some places, due to waterlogging, people going to office in the morning had to face traffic jams. Meteorologists say that monsoon has now become fully active and intermittent rains will continue in Delhi-NCR for the next three to four days. Due to which a drop of four to five degrees can be seen in the temperature.

Heavy rain alert issued for these states
According to India Meteorological Department, the risk of landslides has increased due to heavy rains in hilly areas like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh for the next 48 hours. Keeping alert on this, tourists have been advised to take precautions. At the same time, ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued for heavy rains with thunderstorms in Bihar and Jharkhand and there is a possibility of torrential rains along with dust storm in eastern and central parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
