New Delhi:A sensational incident of robbery in broad daylight created a stir in the capital Delhi. Near Shah Alam Dam picket of Jahangirpuri police station area, four miscreants riding a bike allegedly stopped an employee of a jewelery businessman on the way and after a fight, fled with a bag containing about 35 kg of silver. After the incident, police activity has increased in the area and footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby is being scrutinized.
According to the police, the incident occurred on September 22, 2026 at around 2 pm. Policemen posted at Shah Alam Dam picket saw a fight between some people nearby. Policemen immediately reached the spot. There Rajesh Patel, who is said to be an employee at Yes Ornament located in Kucha Mahajani Bazaar, Chandni Chowk, informed the police about the entire incident.
According to Rajesh, he was carrying a parcel full of silver on his motorcycle. Meanwhile, four helmeted miscreants riding on two motorcycles stopped them on the way. It is alleged that the miscreants beat him up and looted a black bag kept on the motorcycle containing about 35 kg of silver and fled from the spot.
Two bikes, four criminals and a bag full of silver
The manner of the crime was no less than a movie robbery scene. The four accused were wearing helmets and had come riding on two motorcycles. After committing the crime, the accused quickly left the spot. The police are now trying to find out whether the miscreants had done recce beforehand or carried out the incident suddenly.
CCTV will become the biggest clue for police
After the incident, the police have started scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding area. Police are trying to find out in which direction the activities of the accused went and whether any suspicious activity of theirs was captured on camera before or after the incident or not. At present the police is busy investigating the matter. Possible clues are being linked to identify and arrest the accused. Police say that further action is being taken on the basis of CCTV footage and other facts.
