New Delhi: There is a relief news for the travelers planning to visit Mata Vaishno Devi or visit Kashmir. Indian Railways has expanded the rail services in Jammu division by starting 4 pairs of new train services. The objective of these new trains is to provide better, faster and convenient travel to the pilgrims, tourists and local travelers traveling to Jammu and Kashmir.

New train services started in 2025-26

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in the information given in the Lok Sabha that during the year 2025-26, 4 pairs of new train services have been started in Jammu division. Their operation was started in a phased manner between June 2025 and March 2026, so that the increasing passenger numbers and travel demand could be better met.

Vande Bharat Express will provide fast travel

The new services also include modern Vande Bharat Express, which will reduce travel time and provide a more comfortable travel experience to passengers.

Jammu Tawi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express

Amritsar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express

Other new train services including Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Budgam Express

With the introduction of these trains, rail connectivity between Jammu, Katra, Srinagar and Budgam has been further strengthened.

After the operation of the new trains, more than 170 train services are now available in Jammu division. This will not only provide convenience to religious pilgrims, but will also boost tourism, trade and local transport.
