Haldiram ‘s, India’s popular snacks and sweets brand, has temporarily closed its first restaurant in the United Kingdom (UK), just weeks after opening. The company clarified that the decision was not due to any business or operational issues, but due to scheduled upgrade work to the electricity and gas networks .

Haldiram UK shared the information on its official Instagram account, stating that the restaurant is temporarily closed from July 21, 2026. The company appealed to customers for patience and said that the restaurant will reopen after the necessary work is completed.
A notice posted outside the restaurant states that electrical and gas upgrades are being carried out as scheduled by UK Power Networks (UKPN) . A reopening date will be announced once this work is complete.

Haldiram’s opened its first UK restaurant at 19-20 Irving Street, Leicester Square , London , in June 2026. Spanning approximately 3,000 square feet , the restaurant seats 120 people, with an additional 20 outdoor seats available.
The opening was met with great enthusiasm among the Indian community and locals. Long queues formed outside the restaurant, and photos and videos quickly went viral on social media.
The special menu attracted people’s attention.
This restaurant is based on a premium casual dining concept, a departure from Haldiram’s traditional quick-service model. Customers can enjoy Chole Bhature, Pav Bhaji, Raj Kachori, a variety of Chaat, and fusion desserts specially created for the London outlet.
A special retail section has also been created in the restaurant, where facility is provided to purchase Haldiram’s packaged snacks, sweets and other products.

The company has not yet announced a specific date for the restaurant’s reopening. However, Haldiram’s has assured that the restaurant will reopen to customers as soon as the necessary maintenance and upgrades are completed.
