Hardik Pandya has once again become one of the biggest talking points in the IPL. According to reports, Revz Sport journalist Rohit Juglan has claimed that Hardik is on his way to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The report also suggests that he could become the team’s next captain.

That said, if you look at KKR’s current situation, it is easy to understand why Hardik’s name is being linked with the franchise.
KKR are in search of an experienced captain and a proven leader. In that regard, Hardik is one of the strongest options available in the market.
Earlier, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals were also linked with Hardik in various reports. Different trade possibilities were discussed, but KKR now appears to be the franchise attracting the most attention.
From a cricketing point of view, Hardik could solve several problems for Kolkata.
First, he brings leadership. He has already won the IPL as captain and knows how to handle pressure in high-stakes matches.
Second, he strengthens the finishing department. If KKR decide to promote Rinku Singh in the batting order, Hardik can comfortably take over the finisher’s role.
He also adds balance with the ball. As a pace-bowling all-rounder, Hardik provides an extra bowling option while also improving the team’s overall combination.
Another reason behind the speculation is KKR’s all-round department. If the franchise is looking to move on from Cameron Green after an underwhelming season, Hardik would be a natural replacement.
