A one-storey building collapsed in Satya Niketan area of Delhi on Sunday. So far 5 people have died in this accident. And 5 are seriously injured. It is believed that 40 to 50 people are buried under the debris of the building. So far 12 people have been rescued. News regarding this accident is going viral on social media with false claims. It is being said that a hostel building collapsed in the South Campus of Delhi University.

PIB Fact Check, the fact checking agency of the Government of India, has termed the viral claim as misleading. According to the agency, ‘The building that collapsed was a private paying guest (PG) accommodation in Satya Niketan, south-west Delhi, near the South Campus of Delhi University. The collapsed building was not the hostel of the South Campus of Delhi University.
The agency has appealed to people to always verify such claims from reliable and official sources before believing or sharing them.
