HCLTech has launched an AI-powered “nano” Global Capability Centre (GCC) offering built on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The service is designed to help businesses move beyond AI pilot projects and put AI-enabled operations into wider use.
The offering is part of HCLTech’s GCC 360 suite and combines its GCC advisory services with AI platforms such as AI Force. It is aimed at companies that want to build AI capabilities without committing to a large, traditional centre from the outset.
Designed for Established GCCs and Mid-Market Firms
The offering targets two groups of businesses. Companies that already operate GCCs can use it to introduce AI-led transformation without disrupting their existing work. HCLTech plans to support these organisations through a hub-and-spoke model anchored at its Lucknow campus.
The second group is mid-market companies that do not yet have an in-country presence and want a lower-risk way to enter a new market while accelerating AI adoption. They can begin with focused projects, establish AI-native operating models and expand as their needs develop.
Small Teams and AI-Enabled Workflows
Unlike traditional GCCs, which are often built around broad operations and large teams, the nano GCC model is based on compact, product-focused teams and AI-enabled workflows.
The offering covers AI-native engineering, autonomous IT operations, advanced data and analytics, and intelligent business operations. HCLTech says responsible AI governance is built into the model.
HCLTech and AWS Share Responsibilities
HCLTech will design and implement the operating model. AWS will provide joint go-to-market support and access to agentic AI services, including Amazon Bedrock, Kiro and AWS Transform.
The companies say the combination is intended to help enterprises move from experimentation to production, demonstrate value through targeted use cases and scale their operations progressively.
Asia-Pacific Leads the Rollout
The Asia-Pacific region will be the first phase of the rollout, as part of HCLTech’s broader global strategy. Delivery will be supported by HCLTech’s India-based organisation and its Centre of Excellence in Lucknow, drawing on the country’s technology and engineering talent.
The nano GCC model offers businesses a smaller starting point for AI-led operations. Its effectiveness will depend on how well companies identify suitable use cases, demonstrate measurable results and expand the model over time.
