‘Hindus Have Been Hypnotised… Modi Govt Is Looting Them’: Uddhav Thackeray Slams Ram Mandir Donation Theft

Mumbai: Uddhav Thackeray tore into the BJP over the Ram Mandir donation theft case, accusing Narendra Modi’s government of “looting” Hindus.

Launching the party’s ‘Ram Raksha Andolan’ (Movement to Save Lord Ram) at Dadar on Sunday, the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief recited Ram Raksha Stotra, Hanuman Chalisa and Maruti Stotra in front of hundreds of party workers as he sought to claim the Hindutva pitch that defined the party founded by his father Balasaheb.

“Today Hindus have been hypnotised. I urge all Hindus from the country to awake and fight against those looting Lord Ram,” Uddhav appealed.

“When Hindus were scared, it was Balasaheb Thackeray who gave them confidence by saying ‘Garv se kaho hum Hindu hain’ (Be proud and say ‘we are Hindus’). Today I am again saying ‘Garv se kaho hum Hindu hain’,” the former chief minister of Maharashtra said.

“Ram bhakts will burn the golden Lanka of Ravan. We will burn the Lanka of injustice,” he added in his address at the protest event held outside the Hanuman temple in Dadar.

Criticising the Central government, Uddhav said: “The Narendra Modi government is looting Hindus. It started with Kedarnath-Badrinath, now it is Ayodhya. They say ‘Ayodhya was a trailer, and Kashi and Mathura are yet to come’. I am worried about the loot there,” he said, adding, “It is unfortunate that those looting Hindus are in power.”

“We are fierce, innocent, nation-loving Hindus, but not fools,” he observed.
