Why did Delhi Police admit him to the hospital?
On Saturday morning, the Delhi Police team reached Jantar Mantar and took Sonam Wangchuk to the hospital from there. Police say that this step was taken on the basis of the instructions of Delhi High Court and the advice of expert doctors. Giving information on social media platform ‘X’, New Delhi District Police said that in view of Wangchuk’s deteriorating health, he has been admitted to the hospital for necessary medical care. According to the police, the purpose of this entire process was to ensure the safety of their life and health.
Protest took place during the action
When the police arrived to take Wangchuk to the hospital, some people present at the protest site protested. Workers of ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ raised slogans and objected to the police action. There was an atmosphere of tension on the spot for some time. However, the police said that they maintained composure during the entire incident and safely took Wangchuk to the hospital without any major untoward incident.
Police appealed to the protesters
Delhi Police said in its statement that while following the orders of the High Court, some protesters tried to create obstruction, which led to chaos for some time. Despite this, the police completed the entire operation with peace and patience. The police also appealed to the protesters present at Jantar Mantar to vacate the protest site peacefully while maintaining law and order.
Delhi High Court had given strict instructions
In this matter, Delhi High Court had given clear instructions to the government and administration two days ago that Sonam Wangchuk’s health should be checked daily by government doctors. The court had said that the life of any citizen is very important and it is the responsibility of the administration to ensure their safety. The court had also directed that if the medical report shows signs of deteriorating health, then necessary steps should be taken immediately as per the advice of the doctors.
