ICC T20I Rankings: Abhishek Sharma Rises to No. 2, Ishan Kishan Retains Top Spot

The Indian opener Abhishek Sharma has moved to second place in the ICC Men’s T20I batter rankings after his crucial contribution in the game against Afghanistan.

He climbed above Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan following a strong start in the T20I series. He smashed 82 runs in the first game and 39 runs in the second game.

India now has both of the top two batters in T20I rankings, as Ishan Kishan holds the No. 1 spot in the rankings. The wk-batter took over the spot in July after India’s two-match T20I series against Ireland. He became the fourth Indian batter to reach the No.1 spot in the format after Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Abhishek Sharma.

Meanwhile, Tilak Varma is also in the top ten spot claiming the 8th position in the elite group. Sanju samson has also made a progress have moved up four places to 30th in the T20I batting rankings after a half century in the 2nd T20I against Afghanistan in Delhi.

Meanwhile, India’s Varun Chakravarthy has climbed two places and secured the 5th spot in the T20I bowling rankings.

Meanwhile, India’s ace Jasprit Bumrah has jumped seven places to No.10, while Arshdeep Singh jumped 11 positions and sits in the 14th spot. Axar Patel has secured the 27th position in the rankings.

Afghanistan has also made some progress as Azmatullah Omarzai has gained in the list of T20I all-rounders. The 26-year old scored an unbeaten half-century in the series opener.

In the ODI rankings, Australian trio have gained following their 59-run victory against Zimbabwe in the series opener in Harare. Nathan Ellis who picked a five-wicket haul improved 20 spots to jump to 20th spot in the list of ODI bowlers.

Meanwhile, Matt Renshaw who won the player of the match after a century, has moved from outside of 100 to 68th position in the list of ODI batters.

Cooper Connolly has also gained in ICC rankings after contributing 51 in the game against Zimbabwe.
