Indian men’s Kabaddi team has won the gold medal in the Asian Games 2026. India won 40-34 in the final against Iran. As expected, there was a tough competition between the two teams. Iran had a lead of 18-17 in the first half. After this, in the second half, Team India made a strong comeback and won the gold medal.

Sunil Kumar is captaining the Indian men’s Kabaddi team in the Asian Games 2026. 29 year old Sunil is a resident of Sonipat, Haryana. He was also part of the team at the 2022 Asian Games. He mainly plays as a defender. Sunil works as a junior clerk in the office of the Principal Chief Commercial Manager of North Eastern Railway.
Sunil’s strong record in PKL
Sunil plays for U Mumba in the Pro Kabaddi League and is also the captain of the team. Sunil is the third most successful defender in the history of Pro Kabaddi League. He has 442 tackle points in 179 matches. He has made 35 super tackles and also made high 5 in 27 matches. After winning the Junior Nationals in 2015 and 2016, Sunil was selected by Patna Pirates for PKL Season 4. After this he moved to Jaipur Pink Panthers. 2022 Jaipur franchise became champion under his captaincy.
Sunil Kumar’s Kabaddi journey started from his village itself. His uncle’s sons were Kabaddi players. It was after seeing him that Sunil entered this sport.
