It is noteworthy that before the IPL 2025 mega auction, Lucknow Super Giants had bought Rishabh Pant for a record price of ₹27 crore, which at that time was the largest amount spent on a player in the history of IPL auction. However, the team parted ways with Pant after just two seasons.
As part of a trade deal with Delhi Capitals, Pant is now returning to that franchise for a fee of ₹15 crore, while Kuldeep Yadav has joined Lucknow Supergiants for his current fee of ₹13.50 crore.

Star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant started his IPL career with Delhi Capitals. He was a constant presence in the team from 2016 to 2024, playing 111 matches in nine seasons. Pant has the record of playing most IPL for Delhi.
He also captained the team in 43 matches across four seasons between 2021 and 2024. Therefore, his return is being considered as a big step for Delhi Capitals. Now it will be interesting to see whether the franchise makes a change in leadership or keeps its faith in Axar Patel.
