Prayagraj/Ambedkarnagar,Independent Morning Bureau. Indravati, the 91-year-old mother of Ashutosh Mishra, posted as Superintendent of Police Headquarters in Uttar Pradesh Police, was allegedly murdered after robbery. His body was found in his ancestral house in Rudha Dhamrua village of Malipur police station area of Ambedkarnagar on Sunday morning. Blood was coming out from the mouth of the dead body and gold jewelery was found missing from the body.
As soon as information about the incident was received, senior police officers including DIG Somen Verma, Superintendent of Police Prachi Singh reached the spot and inspected the spot. Preliminary investigation has also revealed that a cloth was stuffed in the woman's mouth. Police have registered an FIR against unknown persons for robbery and murder and started investigation.
It was told that Indravati was living alone in her ancestral house in the village for the last two weeks. His son Ashutosh Mishra also came to meet him on Saturday afternoon. Due to duty, he returned to Lucknow after some time.
At around 10 am on Sunday morning, his uncle Sachindra Mishra called Ashutosh Mishra and informed him that his mother had died of a heart attack. On receiving the information, he reached the village from Lucknow. On seeing the dead body, they saw blood coming out of the mouth. After this he informed the police about the jewelery missing from his body.
According to family members, the gold chain from Indravati's neck, Tulsi rosary with gold grains, nose nail, ear tops and anklets were missing. Based on these circumstances, an FIR was lodged raising suspicion of murder after robbery.
Cause of death not clear in post mortem
The post mortem report that came late last night could not reveal the clear cause of death. Doctors have preserved the viscera to find out the cause of death. During the post-mortem, it was also revealed that injury marks were found on the mouth and hands. Police are taking further action on the basis of post-mortem report and facts revealed in the investigation.
