Iran Nuclear Threat: Donald Trump rebuked NATO and Italy’s PM, said they are not helping in stopping the nuclear threat.

Former US President Donald Trump has launched a major attack on NATO countries and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Trump alleged that these allies are not supporting him in eliminating Iran’s nuclear threat. Trump says that America has been protecting him for decades, but the allies do not stand together when needed.

Trump expressed his displeasure on Truth Social. He particularly criticized Italy’s PM Meloni and said that he refused to accept the American request to stop nuclear weapons. Trump also said that Italy did not allow him to use its landing strips and runways, which caused him a lot of trouble. Trump said that despite spending trillions of dollars on NATO and Italy, they did not come together against the serious nuclear threat from Iran.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni called Trump’s statements nonsense and an attack without any provocation. She made it clear that she would protect the national interests of Italy. However, he also said that the agreements related to the US military bases in Italy are being fully followed and will not be violated during their stay.

This entire controversy increased further after the G7 Summit held in France. Meanwhile, high level talks were also going on between America and Iran in Switzerland. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian made it clear that Iran will never step back from its right to enrich uranium.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte took a different stance. He praised the recent agreement between America and Iran to end the conflict and called it a big step. IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi also welcomed the agreement and said that now the technical work of investigating Iran’s nuclear program can begin.

Recently Britain, France, Germany and Italy issued a joint statement. It was said that if Iran takes the right steps on its nuclear program, then they are ready to lift the sanctions imposed on it. Meanwhile, on June 20, there were reports of Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz, although America denied this and said that the movement of ships continued.
