Japan Earthquake: Earth shook up to Tokyo due to powerful earthquake of 7.2 magnitude; no danger of tsunami
Tokyo: Strong earthquake tremors were felt in the coastal region of northern Japan on Thursday morning. The intensity of this earthquake has been measured at 7.2 on the Richter scale. However, it is a matter of relief that the country’s meteorological agency has not issued any tsunami warning nor is there any immediate news of major damage.
Tremors occurred during rush hour, Tokyo also trembled
This earthquake occurred on Thursday morning when people were preparing to go to their offices. The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of about 50 kilometers (30 mi) below ground. Light tremors were felt in northern Japan as well as in the capital Tokyo, which created an atmosphere of chaos for some time.

Initial reports put the earthquake’s magnitude at 6.9, but the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) later revised it to 7.2. On the other hand, the US Geological Survey (USGS) has also recorded the intensity of this earthquake as 6.9 in its assessment.
No loss of life or property, government on alert
Clarifying the situation, Chief Government Spokesperson Minoru Kihara said that no casualties or major damage to property have been received so far due to the earthquake. The Prime Minister has appealed to the residents of the affected areas to remain extremely alert, as the danger of possible aftershocks after the main earthquake has not yet gone away.
