The artists were allegedly attacked with chairs after scene showing ‘atrocities on a community’
Jajpur: A drama turned into chaos at a jatra stage in Jajpur recently when members of the audience threw chairs at artists during a performance. The play had to be stopped for some time.
The incident took place at Chandama Kali Ground under Jajpur Road police limits.
According to reports, the play “Sanatani” was being staged when a scene depicting one group allegedly torturing another community was being performed.
Seeing the scene, some spectators became agitated and started hurling chairs at the artists on stage. As a result, actress Tamasa was injured. She sustained injuries to her hand.
The incident led to a tense situation at the jatra ground for some time, with shouting among audience members.
Members of the jatra committee and other artists intervened and pacified the crowd. They urged everyone to maintain peace and continue watching the play.
