Jharkhand government’s big gift to artists, government will give 4 thousand rupees every month, know the complete scheme

Jharkhand News: A very relieving news has emerged for the artists who nourish the rich culture and art of Jharkhand with their blood and sweat. The Directorate of Cultural Affairs of the State Government has extended a helping hand to the elderly, seriously ill and permanently disabled artists who awaken the society with their art. New applications have been invited by the government under ‘Monthly Retirement Scheme’. Under this welfare scheme, the eligible artistes selected for the financial year 2026-27 will be given an honorarium of Rs 4,000 directly in their bank account every month. The government believes that artists who have dedicated their entire life to art should not have to lend a hand to anyone in old age or helplessness.

Artists struggling with financial crisis will get support

Director of Art Culture Department Asif Ekram has shared important information regarding this entire scheme. He told that the main objective of this scheme is to provide a strong support and respect to the artists who are facing financial crisis at this stage of their age or due to poor health. Artists are the mirror of the society and when they are helpless then it is the duty of the government to ensure that they can live their lives with dignity. Keeping this in mind, the fabric of this scheme has been woven. The biggest thing is that disabled artists of any age can take advantage of this scheme, so that physical disability does not overshadow their art and life.

Jharkhand’s policy is better than the schemes of Bihar and Centre.

If we compare it with the schemes of neighboring states or the Central Government, then this scheme of Jharkhand Government appears much more sensitive and beneficial for the artists. The biggest relief is that there is no strict age limit in this. While it is necessary to cross the age limit of 60 years to avail benefits in the Central Government scheme and 50 years in the Bihar Government scheme, in Jharkhand there is no age restriction for seriously ill or disabled artists. Under this, young artists of the state can also become eligible if needed. Apart from this, the Jharkhand government is giving Rs 4,000 every month, which is Rs 1,000 more per month than the amount of Rs 3,000 received by the Bihar government. The amount in the Centre’s scheme is more but its paperwork is so complicated that the artists have to make rounds of Delhi, whereas in Jharkhand they have to submit the forms directly to the Ranchi Directorate.

These important documents will be required for application

To avail the benefits of this scheme, artists will have to attach some very important documents with their application. In the application form, first of all the artists will have to give complete details of their art like music, painting, theater or folk art etc. Along with this, they will also have to attach certificates of their achievements and awards or honors received. The benefit of this scheme will be available only to the original residents of Jharkhand, for which residence certificate is mandatory. Apart from this, age certificate, annual income certificate, complete details of bank account and photocopy of identity card will have to be submitted. Artists who are seriously ill or disabled will also have to submit a medical certificate certifying their condition.

Transparent process and opportunity to apply till 31st July

The best thing about this scheme of Jharkhand government is its transparency. Artists will have to submit their filled form along with all the necessary documents to the office of Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Ranchi in person or through post. The form of this scheme can be easily downloaded from the official website of the department. The last date for application has been fixed as 31 July 2026. With the implementation of this scheme, artists will be freed from middlemen because after selection the money will be transferred directly to their bank account. With this, elderly and sick artists will not have to depend on anyone else for their medicines and daily expenses, which will enable them to live with their heads held high in the society.
