Why isn’t just snow removal enough?

• Bacteria and Odor: Food particles trapped under the frozen snow begin to rot over time, harboring bacteria and causing foul odors.

• Dirt in rubber seal (gasket): A dirty or cut rubber seal on the freezer door allows warm outside air to enter and often freezes.

• Blockage of drain hole: As snow melts, its water flows out of the drain pipe. If this path gets blocked, the water gets stuck in the freezer and stinks.

• Effect on coil and sensor: Clogging on the cooling coil or defrost sensor hidden inside increases the load on the compressor and also increases the light bill.

Clean the freezer with these 3 natural kitchen items

Remove all items from the freezer before starting cleaning. Keep food in an ice box or insulated bag to prevent spoilage.

1. A natural cleaner of baking soda and vinegar

Mix 1-2 teaspoons of baking soda and a little white vinegar in warm water. Wipe the walls and corners of the freezer with a sponge dipped in this solution. This mixture removes stubborn stains as well as rooting out freezer odors.

2. Cleaning the rubber gasket

Dirt and mold often get stuck in the rubber folds of the freezer door. Gently scrub the gasket with an old toothbrush dipped in a baking soda solution to maintain cooling.

3. Lemon or vanilla essence to remove odor

After cleaning, put some baking soda or lemon slices in a bowl to keep the freezer smelling fresh. You can also keep it by applying drops of vanilla essence on a cotton ball (Rs).

Allow the freezer to dry completely

After cleaning, leave the freezer door open for a while or wipe the inside thoroughly with a clean cotton cloth. Do not turn on the switch and put the luggage back until the interior is completely dry, otherwise the ice will quickly re-freeze.
