A suspected crude bomb exploded in the New Town area of West Bengal, creating a sensation in the area. The explosion took place in a rented room, in which one person was injured. The incident was captured in CCTV camera. Police have recovered the material used in making bombs from the spot. The police have detained two suspects and have also started interrogating them. During investigation, 2 live country-made bombs were recovered from the house. CID’s bomb squad has recovered the bomb. The incident took place in South Nayaranpur area of Rajarhat.
According to the police, the explosion took place in a ground floor room inside a betel nut plantation. This room was recently taken on rent by a person resident of Kamarhati.
What did the local people tell?
Local people say that two people had entered the room carrying a bag and left it inside. Shortly after his departure, there was a loud explosion. The explosion was so powerful that two nearby rooms were also damaged. There was chaos in the area. A person present inside the room has been injured in the blast. Local people immediately informed the police, after which the team of Narayanpur police station reached the spot. The injured have been sent to the hospital for treatment. His condition is said to be stable.
Police expressed this apprehension
During the search, the police found material used in bomb making at the incident site. After this, the forensic team has been called after cordoning off the entire area. Initial investigation revealed that the room was being used to prepare and hide the material.
