Young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been included in the Indian T20 squad for the New Zealand tour. Vaibhav is going to New Zealand with Team India for the first time. Before the T20 series, Kiwi fast bowler Lockie Ferguson has said a big thing for this young batsman. Ferguson has said that he is looking forward to bowling to this 15-year-old batsman. He told that considering Vaibhav's talent, he was not surprised when this teenage player was included in the Indian team.

 

Speaking to the media on Sunday, Ferguson said, 'I played against him in the IPL. He is really talented. His talent is unmatched. His inclusion in the Indian team is not surprising. In the two seasons he has played in the IPL so far, his performance has been extraordinary.

 

He further said, 'I am looking forward to facing his challenge in New Zealand. This will be his first experience in New Zealand. I don't know whether he has played cricket here before or not. This will be a great series.

Indian team is very strong – Ferguson

Apart from 5 T20s, 5 ODIs and 2 Test matches will be played between New Zealand and India. Ferguson said, 'We are well aware that the Indian team is very strong but it would be really great to host them in New Zealand.' The 35-year-old player has been a part of the IPL for almost a decade. He has represented 5 teams including former champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans.

 

Ferguson said, 'It has been great to play against and with them (Indian players) in the IPL. So we know how he prepares for the match. I have many good friends in the Indian team. He said that Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh will be eager to bowl in the favorable conditions of New Zealand. Ferguson said, 'I know Arshdeep is keen to bowl in New Zealand, where the ball swings and bounces a little more.'

Ferguson has returned to the ODI team after 3 years

Ferguson has been included in the Kiwis squad for the fourth and fifth ODIs against India. He will return to New Zealand's ODI team after three years. In this format, he played his last match in the World Cup 2023 against India in the semi-final in Mumbai. He said, 'Since the World Cup is nearing, we are playing more ODI cricket. Keeping the World Cup in mind, I have worked hard to keep myself fit so that I can make an important contribution to the ODI team again.
